STEP DOWN AS NGF CHAIRMAN: YUGUDA TELLS BABANGIDA

Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi stste has rescinded his controversial decision of quitting the Northern Governors Forum following what he described as intense pressure from the Northern Elders in the interest of the region.
The Governor who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Yusuf Musa Gumli, said his earlier decision of quitting the forum does not exempt Bauchi state from the regional bound as the last forum meeting was attended by the Secretary to the state government, Barr. Ahmad Ibrahim Dandija.
Mallam Isa Yuguda explained that he quit the forum in realization of unfairness of the past as regard the earlier decision of the forum that nominated Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau for the Nigeria Governors Forum.
Yuguda while back pedaling on the earlier decision said his U-turn to rejoin the forum was as a result of prevailing pressure from the Northern elders who urged him to pipe down and rejoin his colleagues in the forum.
Yuguda however called on current chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Niger state Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Bababgida Aliyu to step down from the leadership of the forum to allow someone with brilliant ides to carry forward.
